Wood Richardson receive FSC® certification
Monday, 12th April 2010
Environmental impacts from print have been associated with everything from the fibre and pulp used, to the production of inks and the operating of printing presses.
Major steps forward have been taken in recent years, including the use of recycled papers equal in quality to anything you will find, and the recent development of FSC® certification.
Many printed items are keen to claim environmental credentials, but this is usually meaningless without real proof.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is a non-governmental organisation, recognised internationally for promoting responsible use of forests throughout the world.
As an FSC®-certified printer, Wood Richardson can apply our unique certification number and logo to your print on paper that conforms to FSC® criteria, allowing its origins to be traced back through the FSC® ‘chain of custody’. Certification is a proven and provable declaration of having used ethically sourced material, which is almost impossible to achieve without this.
As strong advocates of environmental best practice – our own award-winning brochure is printed on 100% recycled content silk art paper - we have also produced a free and informative practical guide to environmentally-friendly printing.
Our ‘guide to environmental
print and FSC® chain of custody’ includes simple and easy to apply
8-point ‘best practice’ guidance for print buyers.
